None other than Oscar-decorated director Guillermo Del Toro, who won best director and best film just last year for his amazing movie “The Shape of Water”, is going to be bringing his crew to St Thomas next week for a few days of filming. His new project is described as a teen horror called “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”, and while most of the shooting is being done in Toronto, they will be coming this way on September the 24th.
Del Toro loves filming in Canada. “The Shape of Water” was shot mostly around Hamilton and Toronto. Look for the exterior of Hamilton City Hall, and Massey Hall, which was the location of Elisa’s apartment.

For the St Thomas shoot, they put out a call to a Toronto casting agency saying they need about 100 extras to be available for about four days. Details are being kept quiet, including the location.

The movie stars Dean Norris, Lorraine Toussaint, Gabriel Rush, Austin Abrams, and Zoe Colletti.
