Snow squalls are expected. Under the snow squall bands, visibility will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will quickly accumulate.

Snow squalls this afternoon and evening.

A stiff and cold northwesterly flow of fresh arctic air will generate lake effect snow bands off of Lake Huron this afternoon and evening. Local snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected in the strongest snow squalls if they are able to lock in for a few hours late this afternoon or this evening. Otherwise, snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm will be common.

Hazardous winter driving conditions are anticipated. Motorists should drive according to the road and weather conditions and allow extra time to reach their destination.

The lake effect snow will slowly taper off to a few flurries overnight tonight as winds diminish.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
