Norfolk OPP are reminding parents to speak to their children about the dangers of sending out photographs of themselves.

Police were contacted by a concerned parents Tuesday afternoon to report that their daughter had sent sexually explicit photos and video through an online chat room.

Police say that the 13 year old female had met a 16 year old male online and they began to correspond. It was then that the girl had sent the boy photographs and the girls parents had found out.

Parents are encourage to have conversations about what self peer exploitation is and explain to them that images might land in places where they shouldn’t be.
