Police have charged a driver accused of deliberately hitting three cruisers trying to stop a vehicle going the wrong way down Highway 11 near Orillia.

Provincial police say they received a report early Sunday morning that a vehicle was heading south in the northbound lanes.

The O-P-P says three police cruisers were damaged but no one was hurt when the driver intentionally hit them several times before the vehicle was stopped.

A 35-year-old man from London is facing numerous criminal charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving while impaired, flight from police and possession of property obtained by crime over five-thousand dollars.
